The Lone Star College Creekside Center will be a self-sufficient facility, offering a selection of class alternatives for students comparted to its main campus at Lone Star College-Tomball. The center will provide classes that support the different goals for both workforce and academic transfer students. A main focus for this facility is to provide a program that concentrates on training and education for a professional workforce. There will be a high demand for the facility from its inception, and it will accommodate 3,500 students.
The center includes dedicated areas for core curriculum courses, including English, math, and sciences, and computer courses including business applications and petroleum data technology classes. The building also includes areas for Cisco network education and electrical technology education, including alternative energy systems. Also included are administrative areas for staff, a registrar/bursar office, testing centers, and various open areas in the design for student collaboration space.
In all my years of experience with these kind of projects, the Creekside Center design and planning process has been the absolute best. Cliff Whittingstall and the [DIG] team were attentive to our vision for the Creekside Center, and they were responsive to our recommendations. [DIG’s] approach was truly collaborative and every meeting was productive.
Dr. Lee Ann Nutt - Acting President, Lone Star College (Tomball)
